I love paper and the possibilities it holds for expression. I appreciate paper because it is translucent or opaque, soft or stiff, rough or smooth and more! It is always malleable. It can be embossed, pleated, rolled, shredded, ruffled or otherwise manipulated. Through my experiences with printmaking, my perceptions have evolved to a greater appreciation for texture. So now I exploit the spatial possibilities of paper as well as its surface. I produce pieces that are visually exciting and reminiscent of tactile experiences, using patterns to suggest the visual textures of nature and the man-made designs of technology, as well as the emotional patterns that are at the core of our lives. I see my work as a kind of silent music - the rhythms of life made visible.
